Hot as a crotch!

Humidity is the amount of water vapor in air. Absolute humidity, relative humidity, and specific humidity are different ways to express the water content in a parcel of air. Relative humidity is the most frequently used of these expressions because of its importance in weather forecasting.

I do not handle the heat well (ever since I had heat stroke at my wedding). I am longing for Fall...

Masai Barefoot Technology
MBT stands for "Masai Barefoot Technology," and the shoes are designed to simulate walking in sand. It's a multi-layered, curved sole that accomplishes this by creating a natural but uneven walking surface. This technology is meant to make the core strengthening muscles more active, creating better posture and increasing shock absorption for all of the joints.

Benefits of MBT Shoes - What's Real and What's Hype
MBT shoes have been billed as "the world's smallest gym." Since they increase muscle activity, strengthening and toning of the leg, buttock, stomach and back muscles takes place during everyday activities like walking and standing. They've received a lot of press since celebrities like Cher, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Heidi Klum have reportedly added them to their shoe collection. Their unique design has supposedly help wearer's tone up, lose weight, and even smooth cellulite, which has garnered the brand a lot of attention as well. While no such claims are made on the manufacturer's web site, MBT shoes have been used in training by Olympic medalists, and other top athletes. And according to Swiss Masai Inc., other benefits of the shoes include:

· Increased muscle activity
· Increased circulation
· Encourages upright posture and relaxed stride

Verdict: These shoes are awesome and help with my plantar fasciitis and metarsalgia.

What I am reading...

C.S. Lewis joined the human race when his wife, Joy Gresham, died of cancer. Lewis, the Oxford don whose Christian apologetics make it seem like he's got an answer for everything, experienced crushing doubt for the first time after his wife's tragic death. A Grief Observed contains his epigrammatic reflections on that period: "Your bid--for God or no God, for a good God or the Cosmic Sadist, for eternal life or nonentity--will not be serious if nothing much is staked on it. And you will never discover how serious it was until the stakes are raised horribly high," Lewis writes. "Nothing will shake a man--or at any rate a man like me--out of his merely verbal thinking and his merely notional beliefs. He has to be knocked silly before he comes to his senses. Only torture will bring out the truth. Only under torture does he discover it himself." UPLIFTING!

BFF du jour

ABBY
Abby is my BFF/cousin/God daughter who was the original "white Oprah" long before Dina Lohan co-opted the title. She is mature beyond years both socially and spiritually. She taught me how to play Wii and is far too tactful to ever admit that I am too old for any of the immature behavior I engage in. Also, her mom referrs to Abby's website as her "yourspace". Love it!
